Friday.
Today we started with mending the cars. Our blown header needed some help to make it sound a little less like an outaged Harley Davidson and more like a car. With a joint effort from Axel, Werner, Robin, Petra and William this was achieved and together we could ease off towards Majavatn and the promised lunch. I didn't feel like driving myself so I called on one of my many co-drivers, Robin, who took over the steering wheel of our miata. With care, he led the gang to Majavatn where we lunched on a very nice buffet.
But things were going very slowly and we started to be concerned about the possibility of arriving in reasonable time in Östersund that night. The main Norwegian road, and our only possible choice, the E6 was narrow and heavily trafficed. Fortunately, it eased up after lunch and we had decided to be a bit risky knowing that 19 kilometers above the speed limit would cost 2000 cronas.
As we left the main road at Grong and entered a secondary road which would take us all the way to Östersund we realised that our dinner was not in any danger anymore. A very empty, well kept road ensured that.
Here we got into some spirited driving, feeling quite safe from the norwegian police. Around seven we were all in Östersund and could park the cars (the hotel did a rather smart thing; instead of having everybody stop at the reception to pick up their parking tickets, they sent a couple of staff out who stood on the road and handed out tickets.) and have well-deserved cold beers all around, before we got ready for dinner.
