Monday 2nd July. Stockholm - Umeå.

Monday - a long and hard driving day.

We all started from the Scandic Infracity between 9 and 10 in order to cover the +600 kms needed to reach Umeå.

A group of 6 cars decided to explore the local miata-friendly roads between Stockholm and Uppsala, while most took to the motorway.

The trip towards Umeå took us through some large forrests. But also through some spectacular views, particularily along the High Coast, a World Heritage Area along the Baltic. Plenty of pictures were snapped.

To easen up the long travel we used different methods where Eddy Sicouri, one of the french participants, was perhaps the most lucky as he had rolled in with his team of appr 10 cars for a simple lunch at a pizzeria in Enånger but was redirected by a local to Borka Brygga which turned up to be a very nice place by the sea.

The most daring was perhaps our Norwegian participant and his 9 year old daughter who braved the cold waters and went for a swim in the Baltic, just north of Sundsvall.

During te late afternoon, early evening, we all eventually arrived at our hotel in Umeå where we could ahll partake of well-deserved beers and later of whitebait roe and wolf's paw drinks. For dinner there was a buffet with reindeer-casseroule.

As I am writing this it is 10.45 pm, the sun is still up and most of the crowd are sitting on the terrace, talking, drinking and looking at all the pictures.
