Wednesday July 4th, from Jokkmokk to Björkliden.
After a long night midnightsunning we woke up to yet another day of sunshine. The day had in store a visit at the Porjus hydroelectric power plant, the museum of the Ice Hotel and for some, a visit 540 meters below the surface in the Kiruna Infomine.
The days drive became increasingly more spectacular as we moved towards the fjells. The mountains showed off in the sun against the various lakes in the valleys. Several of us also encountered reindeer, most of whom seemed a wee bit annoyed at our presence.
The roads have been quite o.k. although some have had a bit of damage done to them by the thawing ground which has made them a bit bumpy or ondulated. Speed has been good as the roads are almost empty except for the occasional caravan or truck.
